So excited to share Christy and Kevin’s beautiful wedding photographs and reception at such a prestigious venue!
Christy and Kevin met in 2011 and after four years together, made the move from Indiana to Florida, USA allowing Kevin to pursue his PhD in Physiology. They had visited Paris for the first time as a couple in 2015 and once wedding planning started, felt Paris would be the perfect spot for an intimate, memorable wedding with their closest family and friends.
Christy explains, “Kevin and I met at a gym in 2011 but it took some time before we started seeing each other outside of the gym. We had been talking on and off for a few months, nothing serious, just getting to know each other. For my birthday, Kevin bought a book about the Ho-Chunk Native Americans, my family’s tribe.
Kevin came to my house with the book. I immediately recognised it because my grandma has it at her house. What Kevin didn’t know is that my family is represented in the book. I sat down with him and showed him the pictures of my great, great grandparents in the book. It goes to show Kevin did listen to what I had to say at one point in our relationship and at that moment, I decided Kevin was alright in my book and we’ve been together ever since.”
Kevin’s version of their love story: “Becoming a couple was certainly not up to me. By the time we were dating, I had a crush on Christy for almost a year, 4 months of which was myself actively trying to convince her to give me a shot! I did everything I could to get her attention, but to no avail.
For reasons I still do not understand, she started to give me a chance and we began to hang out at her house watching shows and playing trivia. A mutual friend of ours had mentioned that she was Native American and very proud of the fact. He said she was of the Ho-Chunk tribe, so I went online and found a few books that mentioned or were about her tribe, specifically. After a few months, I finally gave them to her (I bought them at the beginning of the 4 months, yes, I had to wait 4 months to give them to her!). When I handed the gift over during a night of trivia and drinking wine, that was the turning point for her to give me a real chance (or so she has told me since then). And the rest is history!”
