Romantic Surprise Proposal and Engagement Shoot in Old Port Montreal

I recently had the incredible opportunity to photograph a surprise proposal at La Tour de l’Horloge in the heart of Montreal, followed by an enchanting engagement shoot around the picturesque Old Port. Tien and her fiancé, who have shared a remarkable journey together, chose Montreal as the perfect backdrop for this milestone. Their story is one of love, support, and unbreakable bonds, and it was truly an honour to capture these moments for them!

The Proposal: A Moment to Remember

Nhi and I meticulously planned the surprise proposal at the Montreal Clock Tower, ensuring every detail was perfect. Despite the initial nervousness, the love and excitement between them were palpable. As his fiancé Tien said, “The photoshoot was amazing. It was our first time doing something like this, so there was a lot of nervousness, but of course, Brian did an amazing job at easing those feelings.” It was a beautiful, heartfelt moment that will undoubtedly be cherished forever!

Their Love Story: A Journey of Nearly 8 Years

Nhi and Tien have known each other since they were seven years old, thanks to their close-knit families. Over the years, what began as a childhood friendship blossomed into a deep and enduring love. They’ve navigated a long-distance relationship due to school and work commitments, but their bond has only grown stronger. This summer, they’ll finally be moving in together and attending the same school, albeit for different reasons. Tien describes Nhi as her biggest supporter and the rock that keeps her grounded!

Why Montreal? A Sentimental Choice

Montreal holds a special place in their hearts. It was their first trip together when they were 18 and 19, and despite having little at the time, they made the most of their adventure simply because they were together! This trip laid the foundation for many more adventures, but as Tien shared, “Nothing is quite the same as the first. Coming back and realising that even though we were able to do more, it was still just as enjoyable as the first simply because we were together. I would not change anything about this trip.”

The Engagement Shoot: Reliving the Emotions

Following the proposal, we explored the charming Old Port for their engagement shoot. The historic cobblestone streets, vibrant parks, and the stunning architecture provided the perfect backdrop. Nhi expressed, “Looking at the photos, it really felt like we were reliving that moment and the emotions. And being able to capture it and share it with our friends and family was the best part. It felt like they were really there with us.”

Nhi and Tien’s love story and their connection to Montreal made this photoshoot truly special! The photos are a testament to their journey together and the deep love they share. I am thrilled that they will cherish these images for years to come.
